Hey Guys! Part 2 of our camping trip is live on YouTube! If you haven't seen Part 1 check it out HERE. For this trip we went into the Gifford Pinchot National Forest in Washington State. We of course didn't have any plans for this trip... I'm sure you're starting to see a pattern. We NEVER Plan! We were actually originally going to drive to the Wallowas and camp but we had a lot going on and didn't leave when we should've. To get to the Wallowas is about 4 and a half hours. We didn't want to waist most of our weekend driving, so we decided to start searching for other options. We came to the loosely made decision that we were going to go to a place called Takhlakh Lake and hopefully try to camp there. Once we started getting close we realized most of the roads around the area of our destination had been washed out from the previous winter... SO we had to improvise. Once we finally got passed long dirt roads with potholes and big rocks that had washed onto the road from storms we had arrived at Takhlakh Lake! It was beautiful but of course the campsite was full. Luckily we had quite a few options around us we just decided to start driving and see what we come across. After more old forest service roads we came across Killen Creek Campground. It was so quite and peaceful and perfect! We just happened to pull into a campsite that had just a quick walk to the creek, it was great! After camping there we decided to go back to Takhlakh Lake to go Stand Up Paddle Boarding. It reminded me of Lost Lake above our house but smaller. With a huge mountain view right over the lake, I just love that so much. After leaving the lake we went and checked out Walupt Lake Campground, it was really beautiful there also. Much bigger and they had a horse camp and trails to ride horses around on, pretty cool if you have horses! After that we started on the journey towards home. It was again very interesting with the washed out roads but in time we finally made it back safe and sound!
